Business portraits blend the art and techniques of studio portrait photography with the story-telling, informational elements of photojournalism. Business portrait photography is termed environmental portraiture and was first coined by the photographer Arnold Newman (1918-2006) who was famous for his photographs of artists, politicians and world leaders throughout the twentieth century.
The objective of a business portrait is to capture the essence of the individual's life and work in a natural setting using composition, lighting and the subject's own personality and activities to create unique images.
It is a fairly simply, yet highly skilled process. We spend some time together taking photos, experimenting with light and composition and letting the photos "emerge." The results are a collection of images that tell your story.
